What nobody tells you about Turkey
Balloon flights in Cappadocia are cancelled for wind roughly one morning in four, and refunds take weeks. Always book the balloon for your FIRST morning there, never the last — that way a cancellation still leaves you a second and third chance. Also register your phone IMEI or it stops working after about 120 days.
Who should skip Turkey
Skip Cappadocia in January and February if the balloon is the entire reason you are going. That is the worst stretch of the year for cancellations.
